Village of Zakan
The village of Zakan is located 250 km from Stavropol and Krasnodar. In the settlement of Kurdzhinovo asphalt paved road turns into a mountain soil road that runs for 50 km. The whole way you go along the Big Laba river through a woody gorge that passes by the housing estates of Asian and Rozhkao. 80 % of this area’s population is comprised of the Russians. At the 47-th km of your route, there is a bridge, where, turning left, the mountain road leads to the Damhurtz recreation center and then further to Zagedan and Pkhiya communities followed by Sour Springs. Turning right at the bridge, the road stretches along the banks of the Zakan river and in 3 km it brings you to the haven of Zakan, placed on a scenic sun lit glade which extends creating a valley in upper lands of Zakan at the height of 1350 m.
